Baltimore’s Fourth of July Celebration Lineup Announced

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts Release:

The Mid-Atlantic’s biggest Fourth of July celebration returns to the Inner Harbor!  Baltimore’s Fourth of July Celebration presented by Ports America Chesapeake takes place Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 7pm to 10pm in the heart of downtown Baltimore at the Inner Harbor, featuring live music and celebratory fireworks. At 7pm, audiences can enjoy live music from the Commodores U.S. Navy Jazz Ensemble as they perform contemporary hits at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater at Pratt and Light streets.  At 9:30pm, the sky above the Inner Harbor lights up with a fireworks show produced by the fireworks company Pyrotechnico, choreographed to patriotic and contemporary music. The fireworks can be viewed from several locations downtown and in surrounding areas, including Federal Hill, Locust Point, Fell’s Point, Canton and Harbor East. Support for Baltimore’s Fourth of July Celebration is provided by Ports America Chesapeake, Compass Cyber Security, Visit Baltimore, GEICO and Fox45. In the event of a cancellation due to severe weather, the fireworks show will take place Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 9:30pm.

Visitors can make a day of their holiday downtown by going to nearby attractions, restaurants and retailers. Top of the World Observation Level offers the Picnic at the Top on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 7pm to 9:30pm.  Visitors can take in the 360-degree view of Baltimore and the vibrant fireworks display from one of the most prominent buildings downtown.  Family-fun activities and food & beverages will also be available.  Tickets cost $50 for adults and $30 for children ages 3-12.  To purchase tickets, visit www.eventbrite.com. In addition, Baltimore Beach Volleyball holds its annual “Hat Draw” Tournament on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at noon with walk-up registration beginning at 10am.  The tournament takes place at the Inner Harbor’s Rash Field, located on Light Street and Key Highway.  Men, women, co-ed teams and singles are invited to participate in the event.  Cost is $25 per person in advance or $32 at the door.  Proceeds from the tournament benefit Sail Baltimore, a non-profit providing a program of visiting ships & maritime events.  For more information or to register ahead of time, visitwww.baltimorebeach.com/hatdraw/.

Sail Baltimore will also have four visiting United States Naval Academy Yard Patrol crafts, docking along the West Wall of the Inner Harbor (in front of the Baltimore Visitor Center) from July 3-6, 2017.
