Sunday Morning Non-Fatal Shooting in Federal Hill, Suspect Charged

From the Baltimore Police Department:

Detectives have charged 24-year old Steven Perkins with attempted murder.

On November 27, 2016, at approximately 2:00am, officers were called to the unit block of E. Cross Street for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found two shooting victims. The first victim is a 24-year old man who was shot in the foot. The second victim is a 23-year old man who was suffering from a graze wound. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Investigators believe the suspect in this shooting was involved in a verbal dispute with a group of individuals in the block. During the dispute, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired at the people he was arguing with.

These individuals were not struck. However, two unintended victims in the block were shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, several witnesses helped identify the suspect. After attempting to run from the scene, he was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered.

The suspect is identified as 24-year old Steven Perkins from Annapolis, Maryland. Perkins was transported to the Central Booking and Intake Facility. He is charged with several counts of attempted murder, assault, and various handgun related charges.”

According to Councilman Eric Costello the incident happened in front of the Pizza Bolis and both injuries are non-fatal. Both victims are natives of Virginia, though one is a Federal Hill resident.

Two men were shot amid an early morning fight in Federal Hill, Baltimore police said Sunday.

Around 2 a.m., police responded to a reported shooting in the unit block of E. Cross Street, where they found two men shot. Police said there was "an altercation ... involving several people" at the scene,...

21st Annual Festive Flavors of Federal Hill on December 6th

Celebrate Holidays in the Hill!

Celebrate the holiday season at the 21st Annual Festive Flavors of Federal Hill on Tuesday, December 6th! Festive Flavors is a tasty food and drink tour of Federal Hill bars, restaurants and shops. Attendees visit 7 different local businesses throughout the evening to enjoy food, drink and fun!

Beginning at 6:30 pm, groups visit a new establishment every half hour. The first stop is a boutique, gallery or retail business where your group will have the opportunity to explore the establishment while enjoying some refreshments and good company. Stops then alternate between “food & drink” and “drink only,” ending with a sweet dessert stop for a total of seven locations throughout the evening.

Tickets are a bargain at $55 each and are available online at fedhill.org or can be purchased through Missiontix. To buy tickets at the Federal Hill Main Street office on Cross Street, please email Hillary at hill@fedhill.org.

ACC will host its annual show, The American Craft Council Show in Baltimore at the Baltimore Convention Center from February 24-26, 2017 where 650 contemporary craft artists will display their handmade items. If you aren’t already familiar with ACC, they will once again feature a guest-favorite exhibit, “Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft,” which illustrates craft in context for thousands of show attendees and has been a staple at the show since 2013.

We are inviting you and other interior designers to create and display an original room vignette around the theme “In Space and Time.” Designers are asked to create room vignettes inspired by select objects of fine craft (all craft that is found at the show) and iconic images from the 1940’s to today. You will have the opportunity to depict the essence of a particular decade’s style, and show how the cultural mores of the time influenced the design aesthetic.

Attached is information about “Make Room,” including details about the show, benefits to you as a designer and logistical details.

Please let me know if you are interested in participating in “Make Room” at your earliest convenience, or if you have any questions about the exhibit or would like to discuss your participation in more detail. Space is limited to four (4) designers – and we’ve already booked two! We anticipate the other two to fill quickly.
