Multiple Crimes Involving Juveniles Around the Inner Harbor

Multiple crimes involving juveniles occurred this week in areas around the Inner Harbor.

On Tuesday night at 645pm, a female was assaulted by a large group of juveniles in front of the Maryland Science Center at 601 Light St., according to the Baltimore Police Media Relations team. The victim’s condition was described as not serious and “scratched up.” According to a witness, the incident was stopped by two male tourists from Buffalo, NY who were walking by.

Later Tuesday night at 820pm, an assault and robbery took place on the 100 block of W. Conway St. From Baltimore Police Department Southern District Commander Major Brian Hance:

On February 21, 2017 approximately 8:20 PM, officers responded to a report of a assault and robbery in the Central District on the 100 block of W. Conway St. This incident is near the border of the Southern District. The victim was punched by the suspect and took the victim’s property. Southern District officers and MTA Police searched for the suspect and located him at N. Eutaw and Fayette St. The victim positively identified the 17 year old male whom was taken into custody for robbery.

Last night, Baltimore Police received a call for juveniles chasing and harassing customers leaving the Rusty Scupper around 715pm.

Additionally, this past Sunday night at 9pm, a robbery with a knife occurred on the 900 block of Valenica Ct. in the HarborView neighborhood of Federal Hill, according the Baltimore Police Crime Map. It was not specified if juveniles were involved.

HarborView Townhome Sells for $6.25 Million to “West Coast Celebrity”

A home on top of the piers in the HarborView community in Federal Hill sold for $6.25 million on February 10th. The 9,069 sq. ft. townhome, which has been featured on SouthBMore.com’s Million Dollar Monday twice, is located at 622 North Ponte Villas (Unit 162/163). The home has been on and off the market since 2013, and has been listed as high as $8.5 million. It was previously owned by late real estate developer and Merritt Athletic Club founder Leroy Merritt who passed away in 2010.

From Baltimore Business Journal:

The buyer is an unnamed “West Coast celebrity,” said Charlie Hatter owner of Monument Sotheby’s International Realty, which brokered the deal.

It was most recently rented by Oriole third baseman Manny Machado.

The property was described as “Baltimore’s most extraordinary home” in a previous listing and features five levels, six bedrooms, seven full- and three half-bathrooms, an elevator, a sauna, a home theatre, multiple verandas, a four-car garage, and a 75 ft. rooftop deck that overlooks the Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Downtown, and Federal Hill.

Located nearby, the late Tom Clancy’s 12,000 sq. ft. The Ritz-Carlton Residences condominium in Federal Hill was listed in November 2015 for $12 million.
