Room Description:

The kitchen is the heart of the home.  This expansive space can simultaneously host a myriad of bustling energy from everyday food prep to lively conversation and ruckus entertaining.

A large gathering table with assorted colorful chairs provides an intimate yet open and playful setting.  The rustic paneling, cabinets and beams, left in their original finish and charm, echoes the countryside feel that is exemplified throughout the estate.  Contrasting the rustic-ness by adding a sophisticated light stone tile at the butler’s pantry bump out wall and back splash areas give the space a welcomed brightness and contemporary edge.  Extending a bar with seating around the cook-top peninsula offers additional seating and casual eating area, which can also double as a buffet serving area.

In the butler’s pantry, a lively green is used on the wall surface and a golden yellow on the ceiling. While only an accent in the butler’s pantry this introduces bold punch of color to the entire kitchen area.  Centered in the butler’s pantry is a small island for additional preparation space with a dazzling pendant light above.

This space is a lively interpretation of a traditional kitchen, while maintaining the otherwise dark existing cabinetry and paneling throughout the space.
