Prescription Chicken Relocates to Mount Vernon Marketplace

Prescription Chicken and Gertie’s Yummy Yogurt Bowls has relocated from Cross Street Market in Federal Hill to Mount Vernon Marketplace at 520 Park Ave. It posted the following to its Instagram:

“Need some exciting #news to cheer you up on this gloomy #monday morning? Well we’ve got some! While @crossstmarket gets its facelift, we will be moving our #baltimore home to @mountvernonmarketplace – so be sure to come pay us a visit! We’ll announce our official #opening day soon!!! STAY TUNED FOLKS!!!! . . .”

The relocation is temporary as Cross Street Market undergoes a renovation by Caves Valley Partners (CVP). Construction began in recent weeks, and portions of the market remain open as the project is completed in phases.

Cross Street Market’s social media accounts said that Prescription Chicken and Gertie’s Yummy Yogurt Bowls will return later this year.

Cana Development is involved in leasing at Cross Street Market and Mount Vernon Marketplace.

Prescription Chicken and Gertie’s Yummy Yogurt Bowls’ stall, which was at a temporary location in the market during the construction phase, was positioned up against the front wall and windows at the Light St. entrance to the market.

Prescription Chicken and Gertie’s Yummy Yogurt Bowls opened at Cross Street Market in December and is owned by cousins Taryn Pellicone and Valerie Zweig. The business, which specializes in chicken soup and yogurt bowls, also has a location Union Market in Washington D.C.
