Million Dollar Monday: The Late Tom Clancy’s $7.9 Million Ritz-Carlton Condo

Welcome to Million Dollar Monday! Each week SouthBMore.com will showcase a home on the market listed at a half a million dollars or more

The late Tom Clancy was the author of popular novels such as The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger. Clancy and his wife’s former condo at The Ritz-Carlton Residences was recently added to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for $4.1 million less than when it first hit the market in 2015.  Now listed at $7.9 million, the 12,000 sq. ft. condo on the Inner Harbor features a private theater, a gym, six terraces, large rooms and closets, and modern designs.

From a 2015 Wall Street Journal article:

Mr. Clancy and his wife Alexandra bought three units in the building for 2009 for $12.6 million, a record at the time. The next year they purchased three additional units for roughly $4 million. Four of the units were combined to create this home. Mr. Clancy collected guns and other military equipment, and the Clancys were considering using the other two for a shooting range, but decided against it, Mr. Breck said. Those two units are now rented out and aren’t currently available for sale, he said.

Another high-profile home in the area was recently sold. A 9,069 sq. ft. HarborView townhome, which was once the home of Leroy Merritt and Manny Machado, was purchased last month to a “West Coast celebrity” for $6.25 million.
