Early Morning Homicide in Sharp-Leadenhall

Homicide Investigation

On March 11, 2017, at approximately 6:25am, officers were called to the 100 block of W. Hamburg Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.

This is the first homicide on the South Baltimore Peninsula since 2014 and the first in Sharp-Leadenhall since 2013.

Homicides on the South Baltimore Peninsula since 2007:

  • SBNA had one in 2014
  • Sharp-Leadenhall had one each year in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013
  • Federal Hill had two in 2008
  • Locust Point had one in 2010
