Shareef’s Pizza & Pasta has opened at 1538 Light St. in Federal Hill. Shareef’s takes over a retail space that was home to Pizza Palace before it closed in the spring.
Shareef’s is owned by Ronnie Faulcon, who also goes by Shareef which is the Muslim name he was given. Faulcon owns three food trucks, two Shareef’s House of Wraps locations, and The Grille by Shareef. He also owns a barber shop, and is under construction on a bed and breakfast in Southwest Baltimore. Faulcon is the cousin of Home Maid and Cloudy Doughnuts owner Derrick Faulcon.
Faulcon purchased the business at 1538 Light St. from the former owners of Pizza Palace. Faulcon is keeping the tradition of pizzas alive at the restaurant space with a menu that includes pizzas, pasta dishes, platters, and wraps.
Signature to Faulcon’s businesses is his rotisserie chicken with a custom spice mix, which is also available for purchase. Meats available for the wraps and platters are the rotisserie chicken, grilled shrimp, halal lamb, jumbo lump crab meat, sirloin steak, and salmon, as well as a vegetarian option with vegetables. Platters are served with yellow rice, and wraps have rice and Shareef’s special sauce inside a spinach, tomato basil, or whole wheat wrap.
Pasta dishes, which come with a side salad and garlic bread, include baked rigatoni; alfredo, which can be topped with shrimp or chicken; and turkey spaghetti.
Pizza options include a rotisserie chicken pizza, a jumbo lump crab pizza, a steak and blue cheese pizza, a halal pepperoni pizza, and a build-your-own option.
Shareef’s is open Tuesday to Thursday from 12pm to 9pm, and Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 12am. Dishes are available for carryout as well as dine-in.
Faulcon took on a full renovation of the space adding new floors, a reorganized ordering counter, new kitchen equipment, new paint and wall paper, and new tables.
