Weekend Events Around Baltimore

This Weekend Events Around Baltimore is sponsored by the Locust Point Festival:

The Locust Point Festival, hosted by the Locust Point Civic Association, will be held Saturday, September 8th from 11AM to 6PM in Latrobe Park. The festival was started in the 1970’s as a fundraising effort to block I-95 from being constructed through Locust Point. Today, the proceeds raised help fund projects around the Locust Point community.

This year’s event is sponsored by Domino Sugar, Dr. Lamb, DDS, and Bozutto. Beer is courtesy of Chesapeake Beverage and Diamondback Brewery- our local LP Brewery!  Volunteers from the Locust Point community will be on hand serving up other favorite “adult” beverages such as orange and watermelon crushes as well as sangria.

The festival will have 40 vendors set up around the park including food stands operated by local business from throughout the community. In addition, there will be games such as the ever popular money wheel! Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School will be sponsoring a kid’s zone with plenty of activities to keep the kiddos busy!

Throughout the event, there will be feature band performances by Rickshaw Lizard, The Unsung Heros, The Unofficial, Automatic Slim and The Baltimore Funk Brigade.  To start the day’s events, a special treat this year, is the Star Spangled Banner performed by musicians from Fort McHenry!

Keeping up with traditions, we will have khrusciki cookies for sale along with other Locust Point treats!
