GoFundMe Launched for Garden American Eatery Following ‘Smash-and-Grab’ ATM Theft

A “smash-and-grab” ATM theft took place early Monday morning at the Garden American Eatery at 1501 Light St. in Federal Hill. The suspects backed a van into the building to gain entry and then removed the ATM machine.

To help the  Garden American Eatery, or the Garden Restaurant as it was known for many years, Riverside resident Larry Vogel and his wife Joanne started a GoFundMe to help the Lee family, who owns the restaurant and building. The fund has raised more than $2,100 in its first 16 hours. From the GoFundMe:

Hi, my name is Larry. My wife and I are residents of Riverside. We’re starting a Go Fund Me effort in support of The Garden restaurant on Light St that was a recent victim of an ATM smash and grab. The family that owns this business have been through a series of break-ins and now this extensive damage to their building. We need family businesses like this in Baltimore, and it would be great to help them in this time of need.
