58-year-old Marvin Green of the 100 block of West Hamburg Street in Sharp-Leadenhall has been arrested by Baltimore Police Department (BPD) and charged with attempted 1st degree murder following two stabbings that occurred on Friday during attempted robberies at two liquor stores in South Baltimore. Officers responded to Charles Street Liquors at 1112 S. Charles St. in Federal Hill at 940am, and to Jack’s Liquors at 141 W. Hamburg St in Sharp-Leadenhall at 157pm.
Both victims were transported to University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma and were listed in serious but stable condition, according to BPD documents.
BPD Officers were able to obtain footage of the first incident from Charles Street Liquors’ security cameras and spoke with a witness following the incident at Jack’s Liquors. The witnesses’ description – a black male with a black hat, a gray shirt, and dark jeans – matched the suspect in the surveillance footage.
Mr. Green was located by BPD Sgt. Green and Light Rail Ofc. Weese as he entered a light rail car on the 200 block of W. Hamburg St. They were able to stop the train and detained Mr. Green on the light rail platform.
Both stores have been closed since Friday.
