First Annual Field Day at Rash Field on July 30th

Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore Release:

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore starts a new tradition this summer with its First Annual Field Day at Rash Field on Saturday, July 30th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy an afternoon filled with local food vendors, adult beverages, and outdoor games and activities reminiscent of a childhood field day.

Yard games will be available all afternoon, including Bubble Ball Soccer ($5 drop in games), Corn Hole, Bear Pong and Giant Jenga. There will also be a Tie-Dye t-shirt station, where the first 250 attendees to sign up and attend the event will receive a free Field Day t-shirt to tie-dye. Vendors such as Ekiben, Snake Hill, Dooby’s, The Charmery and local cocktail bar Sugarvale will be on-site to serve food and drinks. A live DJ will provide entertainment.

“This event will give participants a unique opportunity to return to their childhood and enjoy friendly competition,” said Laurie Schwartz, president of the Waterfront Partnership. “Rash Field is a great community gathering space, and we hope to continue this tradition in the Inner Harbor for years to come.”

The field day competition will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Teams will compete in five relay-style races including a wheelbarrow race, a beach ball carry race, a water sponge relay, sack race and a crab walk. An awards ceremony will be held after the competition to honor the winners.

Teams of eight can sign up online in advance to compete in the field day tournament for $5 per person. To register a team and for more information visit http://bit.ly/WPBFieldDay. Teams should arrive by 12:30 p.m. for check-in. All team members must be 21 or over to participate.

This event is free to attend and several activities are also free of charge. Food, drink, and Bubble Ball Soccer tickets are available for purchase.
