The Charmery Closes Until Spring 

The Charmery in Federal Hill closed in September and will reopen in the spring. A sign on ice cream shop reads:

Sobeachy Launches Food Trailer

Cross Street Market stall Sobeachy Haitian Cuisine has launched a food trailer for its event and farmers’ market business. Sobeachy will be hosting a ribbon cutting this Sunday at the Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar to celebrate the the company’s recent growth.

Insightin Health Expands at the Parker Metal Building 

Insightin Health has moved into an 8,000 sq. ft. office space at the Parker Metal Building in Stadium Area. The healthcare technology startup’s new first-floor space is on the south end of the office building and is “six times larger” than its former space in the building.

Insightin Health is the first business to occupy the space in the newly-converted office building.

Noor said Insightin, which has offices here and in Pittsburgh, has hired several new team members in recent months, including leadership-level folks who he said will be working to build out their specific teams. In February, following the close of its $12 million funding round, Noor said the company employed about 45 people overall. He expects to soon employ between 35 and 50 people in the Baltimore area alone, but did not disclose a company-wide hiring goal.

Port Covington Updates 

The Rye Street Market building, the centerpiece of the first major phase of development in Port Covington, has topped out its six levels.

The Port Covington Development Team has announced new leasing partners for its 1.1 million sq. ft. Chapter 1B phase of construction that includes 400,000 sq. ft. of office space and 116,000 sq. ft. of retail. The new partners are:

Terri Harrington, managing principal of the newly-formed Harrington Commercial Real Estate Services, who will assist in office space leasing.

“I am excited to be involved with such an important, catalytic development,” said Harrington in a press release. “Baltimore has such a strong tradition of neighborhoods and as part of the nearby community of South Baltimore I am personally invested in the project’s success. It’s exciting to be involved with the new, waterfront community in Port Covington that will bring a much-anticipated mix of unique uses, attractive retail, and welcoming public spaces – all of which will be exceptionally attractive to office users.”

McDevitt and Cana Development have additionally been announced as the retail leasing team for Port Covington.  

“The scale, location, and best-in-class design of Port Covington is the magical combination of ingredients that will result in a world-class, dynamic, waterfront neighborhood,” said McDevitt Chief Executive Officer Wade McDevitt in a press release.  “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce this remarkable new community to transformative tenants who will embrace and contribute to the diverse and vibrant Baltimore culture and lifestyle.”

“As a Baltimore-based company, we are excited to play a role in this transformational, new addition to our city,” said Michael Morris, principal at CANAdev, in a press release. “While supporting McDevitt to identify and procure the best-in-class retail, our goal is to ensure that Port Covington provides our local retail community with the opportunity to participate while uniquely representing our city.”
