Unified Community Connections to hold virtual Hoodstock fundraiser

BALTIMORE—Unified Community Connections, a nonprofit agency supporting people with disabilities, will hold its signature concert fundraiser, Hoodstock XVII, virtually this year.  

When: Saturday, October 17, 2020

Time:  8:00 pm

What’s Provided:  Streaming rock concert, YETI Cooler of Cheer raffle, and an online silent auction.

Traditionally Hoodstock is the charity event where guests “Just Say No to Black-Tie and Yes to Tie-Dye” while enjoying live music, food and drink. Approximately 350 people attended last year raising more than $93,000.  This year’s 17th annual event will be virtual, due to the COVID pandemic. 

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to bring the fun and spirit of Hoodstock to more people through this virtual event,” said Diane Coughlin, president and CEO of Unified Community Connections.

Roses n Rust will headline Hoodstock and cover both classic and modern artists. There will also be a performance by The Wafflers, in addition to local celebrity O.J. Brigance, senior advisor for player development for the Baltimore Ravens, presenting this year’s Samuel A. Tucker Memorial Can Do Award.

Hoodstock started in 2004 as a neighborhood event and has since grown into a major fundraiser to benefit people with disabilities.  In the 16 years that Hoodstock has been a charity event for Unified it has raised more than $724,000.
