Baltimore Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Relocating to a Larger Space in Violetville

After almost five years at 800 S. Hanover St. in Federal Hill/Otterbein, Baltimore Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is relocating this May to a larger space at 3431 Benson Ave. in Violetville. Owner and instructor Nick Tissue opened the facility in Summer 2014.

“We are sad to be leaving Federal Hill, but are excited for the potential of our new location,” said Baltimore Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Manager Alexis Schaefer in an email.  “The new spot will be twice as large at 7,800 sq. ft., and have ample parking on premises. We are planning on having two large mat spaces at about 2,000 sq. ft. each, which will allow for more class times and new additional programs.”

Schaefer noted the new location is just over three miles from the current location and easily accessible to I-95.

Baltimore Gracie Jiu-Jitsu’s soon-to-be former 4,240 sq. ft. building is currently available for lease. Stuart Stark, longtime owner of 800 S. Hanover St., told SouthBMore.com he is looking for anyone who can fit into the zoning code. The building has seven parking spaces, a fenced-in yard, and 14 ft. ceilings.
