Arrest Made in March Sharp-Leadenhall Homicide

Baltimore Police Department (BPD) has made an arrest in the March 11, 2017 homicide of William Lee Lesanse on the 100 block of W. Hamburg St. in Sharp-Leadenhall. The homicide occurred at 625am.

From BPD on Friday:

Detectives Track Southern District Homicide Suspect to Connecticut.

This evening 28 year-old Andrew Nurse was taken into custody for the March 11th murder of 33 year-old William Lee Lesane.

As a result of the March 11th dispute, Nurse faces 1st Degree Murder charges and will be transported back to Baltimore once extradition proceedings have concluded.

Special thanks to the Vernon Police Department and Connecticut State Police Department for their help capturing Andrew Nurse.

This was the first homicide on the South Baltimore Peninsula since 2014 and the first in Sharp-Leadenhall since 2013.

Homicides on the South Baltimore Peninsula since 2007:

  • SBNA had one in 2014
  • Sharp-Leadenhall had one each year in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013
  • Federal Hill had two in 2008
  • Locust Point had one in 2010
