Federal Hill Main Street Launches New Website and Logo

FederalHill_Logo_CMYKFederal Hill Main Street (FHMS) launched a new website (FedHill.org) and a new branding campaign in cooperation with the Federal Hill Business Association (FHBA) and the Federal Hill Hospitality Association (FHHA). FHMS spent the last year working with Exit10, a South Baltimore-based marketing and advertising firm which has also worked with Pigtown Main Street, on the launch.

Executive Director Hillary Chester told SouthBMore.com that a new website has been long over due for FHMS. She’s hoping the new site will help aspiring Federal Hill businesses reach out to FHMS so it can assist the businesses by providing helpful resources. Chester also noted that the former site had a lot of traffic but was very difficult to navigate and not optimized for mobile, so they’re hoping the new design will lead to users spending more time on the site.

FedHill.org features an events calendar, a directory of Federal Hill businesses, a history of the neighborhood, business resources provided by the Main Street program, ways to volunteer and sponsor, and information about FHBA and FHHS.

Chester described the new logo, which was hand-drawn by designers at Exit10, as “fun and dynamic, but with a historic feel.” The logo features a swoosh from the “d” to the “l” in Federal to represent Federal Hill Park.

The logo will be used to identify the business district as well as collateral including t-shirts which will debut at this Sunday’s Federal Hill Spring Block Party. FHMS is looking to offer more items with the Federal Hill brand in the future, including and will also be looking into creating wayfinding signs to direct people to Federal Hill’s businesses from the harbor and stadiums.

The logo will also be used for advertising campaigns by FHMS as well as for advertising campaigns by individual businesses.

With a new website and logo, Federal Hill will have a greater presence with visitors to Baltimore and will be able to provide residents & businesses with better information about upcoming events and resources in their neighborhood.
