Baltimore Station Fishing Trip with Eugene Monroe
Baltimore Ravens Offensive Tackle Eugene Monroe, an investor in the Stadium Square development, recently hosted a fishing trip with 45 homeless veterans from The Baltimore Station (TBS), an organization which neighbors Stadium Square. From a Fox 45 article:
Monroe rented two charter boats himself and took the group of 40 veterans fishing. Apparently the vets found early success, catching the day’s limit — 90 fish — before noon. Chef Russell, The Baltimore Station’s chef will use the freshly caught fish in preparing meals for the vets throughout this weekend.
While the fishing outing was fun (and bountiful), it also had a significant underlying mission. The excursion was part of a behavioral health therapy activity offered by The Baltimore Station’s addiction treatment program, which strives to “turn lives around,” according to a statement released Friday.
