Multiple Arrests Made in Connection with Recent South Baltimore Robberies

Baltimore Police Department (BPD) Southern District Commander Major Steven Ward informed SouthBMore.com that a 15-year-old male juvenile has been arrested in connection to the South Baltimore Peninsula robberies on Halloween night. Major Ward said the investigation is continuing to identify more suspects involved.

On Halloween night, four robberies occurred in Riverside, Federal Hill, and the Inner Harbor between the times of 9:24pm and 9:56pm. There were eight victims. Several of the victims went to the hospital including an Annapolis women who was attacked by “about six African American teenage females who were carrying backpacks and some of whom were wearing gray sweatshirts” with wood objects on the 1500 block of Henry St., according to the victim. The victim suffered fractures on the bridge of her nose and on her lower eye socket. Her other eye was also bruised, and she had to get stitches on her knees.

Another female Digital Harbor student suffered two broken hands and needed stitches in her head after getting stomped and hit with a baseball bat at the Inner Harbor.

The suspects in all the Halloween robberies are described by BPD as group of approximately 10-15 juveniles.

On Saturday night, BPD officers arrested a 17-year-old and 16-year-old female after a robbery occurred at S. Hanover St. and Henrietta St. at 8:28pm. The corner is at the intersection of Federal Hill, Otterbein, and Sharp-Leadenhall. BPD is investigating if these individuals are linked to any other robberies.

High attendance is expected at tonight’s Riverside/South Baltimore Public Safety Walk with BPD Commissioner Kevin Davis and Councilman Eric Costello. The walk begins at 7pm at the Riverside Park Gazebo.
