Old Line Cocktail and Wine Bar opened last week at Cross Street Market and will be hosting its grand opening tonight. Old Line built out a new stall towards the middle of the block-long market and sits adjacent to a couple common seating areas and Taco Love Grill.
Old Line has a licensing agreement with Highlandtown distillery Old Line Spirits which produces an American single malt whiskey and aged Caribbean rum. Old Line Spirits was started by Mark McLaughlin and Arch Watkins who met in the Navy flying EA-6B Prowlers. They opened the Higlandtown distillery in 2017 and later opened The Ready Room bar in the distillery.
The new Old Line bar will sell cocktails using its rum and whisky including classics like Manhattans and Old Fashions. It will soon carry Old Line barrel-aged cocktails. Old Line will carry additional regional spirits and has all the mixers, sodas, and fresh juices to make popular cocktails.
Four Baltimore beers will be on tap at Old Line with Key Brewing and National Bohemian being in the lineup at all times. Wine will include four selections on tap, plus wines by the glass and a reserve wine list with more expensive and harder-to-find bottles. Old Line also sells hard seltzers.
The bar design at Old Line is navy blue with wood accents. The wood is a nod to whisky barrels and the navy is the same color as Old Line’s logo. It has 13 bar seats as well as a large section without stools for ordering and standing. The stall has four televisions that will play sports.
The back of the stall that faces common seating has a large Old Line mural with ocean waves for the Navy service of McLaughlin and Watkins.
Old Line is managed by Denis Nash and will have what he called an “all-star lineup” of local bartenders who have worked and owned bars in South Baltimore for many years.
Old Line is open Monday to Thursday from 1130am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 1130am to 12am, and Sunday from 1130am to 8pm.
Happy Hour will be Monday to Friday from 4pm to 7pm with $1 off wine and beer.
For its Grand Opening tonight, Old Line is offering $5 apple cider rum and whiskey drinks, as well as $1 off wines by the glass and craft beers.
