Weekend Road Closures for June 28-30, 2019
Key Highway Lane Closures
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary lane closures will be implemented this weekend along a portion of Key Highway for construction work.
Starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 and continuing through 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019, temporary lane closures will be implemented along westbound Key Highway between Covington and Williams Streets. During this time, a two-way traffic pattern will be maintained for motorists along eastbound Key Highway with one lane of through traffic in each direction.
Citizens traveling in this vicinity should expect delays and be on the watch for changing traffic patterns.
Water Street Crane Operation
On Saturday, a portion of Water Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.
On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Water Street will be closed to through traffic between South and Commerce Streets from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Hope for the Homeless 5K/10K
On Sunday, June 30, 2019 temporary lane closures will be implemented for the Baltimore Hope for the Homeless 5K/10K. The event will kick off in south Baltimore starting at 7:00 a.m.
The race will begin at Union Square Park along Hollins Street. Participants will travel along Hollins Street and turn right on Schroder Street, left on Lemmon Street, right on Poppleton Street, and into the B&O Railroad Museum lot. Runners will exit the back of the museum lot and turn left on Arlington Street, continue on to W. Cross Street, and right on James Street to follow into Carroll Park. The course will circle inside the park and participants will follow the same course back to Union Square Park.
In preparation for the event, one lane of traffic will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible. Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants. Motorists should pay close attention to posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in prohibited areas.
Citizens should be on the watch for pedestrians while traveling in this vicinity and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
