Traffic Modifications for the Sole of the City 10K Run
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Sole of the City 10K Run. The event will be held this Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The 10K course will begin and end along E. Fort Avenue at McHenry Row. Participants will proceed west on Fort Avenue, right on Jackson Street, left onto Key Highway, right on Light Street and right on Pratt Street. The course continues right onto S. President Street, left on Eastern Avenue, right on Ann Street, right on Aliceanna Street and left on S. Caroline Street. Runners will then turn right on Point Street and will keep left to circle Harbor Point Central Plaza and turn right onto S. Central Avenue, then left on the Promenade sidewalk. Participants will follow the Promenade around the Inner Harbor and will turn right onto the cobblestone driveway just past the Science Center, left on Key Highway, right on Covington Street, left on E. Fort Avenue and right on Woodall Street to finish.
During the event, Woodall Street will be closed to through traffic between E. Fort Avenue to McHenry Row from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with parking restrictions in effect. In addition, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible.
Transportation Enforcement Officers along with the Baltimore City Police will be stationed along the race route to help facilitate the movement of traffic. Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants. Citizens traveling in this vicinity should expect delays, allow additional travel time and use alternate routes during the event.
Edmondson Avenue Bridge Lane Closures & Traffic Flagging Operation
This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Edmondson Avenue Bridge for underground utility work.
Starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 and continuing through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Edmondson Avenue Bridge. A traffic flagging operation will be conducted in this vicinity to direct vehicles and pedestrians through the work zone. Temporary traffic stops may be implemented throughout the weekend for the safety of utility crews working in the roadway.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity may experience delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Haven Street Construction Work
This weekend, a portion of Haven Street will temporarily close for building construction work. On Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, 2019, Haven Street will be closed to through traffic between Hudson and Dillon Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, with detours and parking restrictions in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Lombard Street Lane Closures
This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Lombard Street for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, 2019, lane closures will be implemented along Lombard Street between Greene and Penn Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway
This Saturday, temporary lane closures that will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) for tree trimming activities and street light repairs.
On Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., temporary lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway from 41st Street Bridge to North Avenue.
In addition to the lane closures, the following ramps will also intermittently closeduring these times with detours in effect:
- Southbound JFX exit ramp to east and westbound Northern Parkway
- Falls Road entrance ramp to the southbound JFX
Covington Street Closure
This Saturday, a portion of Covington Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, April 13, 2019, Covington Street will be closed to through traffic between Cross and Gittings Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
