Caves Valley Partners (CVP) is offering its retail building at 1200 S. Hanover St. in Federal Hill for sale at a JHL Auctioneers auction on April 25th at 1pm. The building is fully leased with tenants including Papa John’s, Federal Hill Laundromat, and the USPS South Baltimore post office.
The one-story, 4,462 sq. ft. building was constructed in 1994 on a .254 acre lot. Behind the building is a parking lot that was recently repaved with approximately 17 parking spaces.
Papa John’s recently relocated within the retail building to make way for the post office, which relocated from two blocks away at 1220 Race St. The post office moved on February 4th.
The post office’s former Race St. property will be torn down this year and replaced by an apartment building as part of CVP’s $300 million-plus Stadium Square redevelopment project.
CVP Partner Arsh Mirmiran said CVP is selling the Hanover St. property as part of a “strategic purchase and sale.” CVP purchased the building in 2016 in an effort to find the post office a space near its former home.
The minimum auction bid is $1,000,000. A $100,000 certified or cashier’s check is required to bid.
