The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) is currently redoing the brick sidewalks on Light St. in the Federal Hill business district. The brick sidewalks had been deteriorating in recent years and some sections were missing bricks.
Last year DOT repaired brick sidewalks on E. Cross St. and S. Charles St. in the business district. Federal Hill Main Street Executive Director Cathy Rosenbaum said they have been pushing for sidewalk repairs and are happy to see it take place.
Rosenbaum also noted some recently-repaired brick sidewalks on S. Charles St. were partially ripped up due to gas line work. She said they are working with Councilman Eric Costello’s office to make sure those sections are redone and that S. Charles St. is completely repaved when the gas line project is completed.
