Construction Begins on Three Large New Townhomes in Locust Point

Construction has started on three large new townhomes at 1441 Haubert St. in Locust Point.  The homes are replacing a row of 16 one-story garages located behind the Marine Corps League Detachment 565 that were recently demolished.

The site was purchased by Chester Street Associates, LLC and the homes will be built by West LLC Builder & Management Group.

Bill West of West LLC Builder & Management Group told SouthBMore.com construction is expected to take six months.

The brick-front, four-story homes will be 19 ft. wide and 65 ft. long. They will have four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

The first floor will include a two-car front loading garage along Haubert St., an office/fourth bedroom, full bathroom, and a back patio. The second floor will have a kitchen, dining room, living room, and half bathroom and a deck; the third floor will have two bedrooms and two full bathrooms; and the fourth floor will have a bedroom, full bathroom, and wet bar area that leads out to a third-story deck that goes to a rooftop deck.

West said all the finishes will be very high-end. He said the homes will likely be priced in the mid-$700,000s.

West and Chester Street Associates also worked together on a large home on Webster St. in Federal Hill that sold for more than $1 million. West is also part of a team planning more than 40 townhomes in Carrollton Ridge.

A lot of new-construction townhomes have been added to Locust Point in the last couple of decades, including 100 new homes since 2014. Six additional townhomes have also been proposed for Cuba St.
