Developer Brandon Chasen purchased 12 West Montgomery St. in Federal Hill last week. The two-story, 10,500 sq. ft. building, which also faces W. Hughes St., was formerly used as office space but has been vacant for recent years.
Chasen will convert the building into a “high-end,” mixed-used property for both office and residential tenants. Chasen told SouthBMore.com in an email, “We are currently working on the schematic design, so our ideas are still a bit preliminary. In the coming weeks we intend to meet with the Neighborhood Associations and share our plans once we have a full scope of the project.”
The building has a 3,500 sq. ft. garage and Chasen told SouthBMore.com that each unit in the building will be provided a parking space.
Chasen is working with architect Julie Tice of Eastend Design Group on the project.
Chasen is also currently under construction on a redevelopment of the Victory House at 1701 Light St. in South Baltimore. The former 7,074 sq. ft. building has been demolished and construction is in process on a new 13,000 sq. ft., three- and four-story, 10-unit apartment building with a 10-car garage.
