Special Attention Fed Hill / Locust Point / Riverside Communities:

Few Robbery Prevention TIPS:

DO NOT RESIST

Be aware of your surroundings

DO NOT be preoccupied with your phone, iPad, head phones, and iPod

If someone acts suspiciously, looks at you closely or follows you, head for bright lights and people and call 911

Carry a whistle or other noise making device. Use it to call attention to yourself if threatened

Last night a BaltimoreLink bus was broken down at Light St. and Heath St. around the time of the third-mentioned robbery. Southern District Commander Major Steven Ward told SouthBMore.com that the bus and its passengers were not linked to the robbery, but the traffic congestion caused by the break down created a challenge for BPD patrols in the area. Major Ward said the robbery was committed by about 10 juveniles.

BPD is looking into leads involving these robberies and extra patrols have been deployed to the area.
