From a SouthBMore.com article:
On Sunday night around 9pm, a large fight involving minors took place on the 400 block of E. Pratt St. at the Inner Harbor. As police dispersed the crowd, a gun was discharged and a 14-year-old and 16-year-old were shot. One was shot in the leg and one was shot in the back. Baltimore Police Department Commissioner Michael Harrison said one victim was in critical but stable condition and one victim was in stable condition.
At a press conference following the shooting, Harrison said, “This speaks to a larger issue that young people would number one have ease of access to these firearms and then would use them indiscriminately to shoot people within 50 feet of 25 to 30 police officers who are in the block. Either they don’t care about consequences or don’t believe the consequences, or have no respect for human life or the sanctity of life or authority, to pull off that brazen and cowardly act in the presence of police officers.”
Two individuals were arrested with loaded handguns following the shooting. One of the individuals is believed to be a person of interest.
