Baltimore City Mayor Brandon M. Scott, who was sworn in yesterday as the 52nd Mayor of Baltimore, has increased COVID-19 restrictions in the city by shutting down indoor and outdoor dining effective this Friday at 5pm. Regarding the executive order, Mayor Scott said “this is about saving lives.” He also noted the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations and daily deaths are at the highest levels since the spring.
District 11 Councilman Eric T. Costello summarized the order below:

restaurants closed for indoor and outdoor dining (only takeout and delivery will be permitted)

indoor gatherings limited to 10 people

outdoor gatherings limited to 25 people

religious facilities limited to 25% of maximum occupancy

retail and shopping centers are limited to 25% of maximum occupancy

indoor recreational establishments will be closed

outdoor recreational establishments limited to 25% of maximum occupancy
-
fitness centers are limited to 25% maximum occupancy
-
personal service establishments are limited to 25% maximum occupancy
-
cultural institutions are limited to 25% capacity
-
indoor and outdoor theaters and performance venues will be closed
-
horseshoe casino is limited to 25% maximum occupancy with no food or beverage service
Restaurants are currently open for outdoor dining, and indoor dining is allowed at 25 percent capacity.
