Barnes & Noble Closes at the Inner Harbor 

Barnes & Noble has closed its massive book store 601 E. Pratt St. at Power Plant in the Inner Harbor. From CBS Baltimore:

“We have been honored to serve customers from The Power Plant bookstore since it opened in 1998 and appreciate their loyalty and support. We also thank the wonderful booksellers who worked at this store and will seek to transfer as many as is possible to one of our other Baltimore-area stores,” the company said in a statement.

They said while it has been a privilege to run it as “one of the most distinctive bookstores of the United States,” those very attributes made it “extraordinarily expensive” to run and maintain.

Barnes & Noble still has a location in Charles Village to serve Johns Hopkins University and another is planned in Northwood to serve Morgan State University.

7-Eleven Expanding on Key Hwy. 

The 7-Eleven at 1465 Key Hwy. in Locust Point is expanding as the convenience store is taking over an adjacent space in its building that was once a Quiznos.

25 Apartments Coming to Downtown

Chasen Companies will bring 25 new apartments to Downtown with a redevelopment of a historic 11,111 sq. ft. building at 211 St. Paul Place. The $7.5-million project will have a two-story addition and a first-floor office space.
