You will now have to leave the neighborhood to get your iPhones fixed as iPhoneAid has closed at 1442 Light St. in Federal Hill. iPhoneAid posted the following to its website:
AFTER ALMOST 10 YEARS OF SERVING THE BALTIMORE AREA ON ALL YOUR IPHONE REPAIRS,
I’M SORRY TO INFORM ALL OF MY AWESOME CUSTOMERS, THAT WE WILL BE CLOSING OUR DOORS COME FEBRUARY 1ST.
THIS IS DUE TO APPLE SLOWLY TIGHTENING THE SCREWS ON AFTERMARKET BUSINESSES BY PROGRAMMING COMPONENTS TO THE LOGICBOARD. FOR EXAMPLE IF I REPLACE A BATTERY IN AN IPHONE 11, EVERY TIME YOU HIT THE HOME BUTTON YOU RECEIVE A WARNING MESSAGE.. SUCH AS: WARNING! THIS IS NOT A GENUINE APPLE COMPONENT AND MAY BURST INTO FLAMES! I HONESTLY I FEEL IT’S AN ANTITRUST ISSUE BUT WHO CAN FIGHT APPLE?
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT THROUGH THE YEARS. SOME OF YOU HAVE BEEN BEGGING ME TO STAY OPEN BUT I NO LONGER CAN AND IM MOVING ON TO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS IN MY LIFE. I MAY HAVE A SATELLITE OFFICE IN HAMPDEN AND OPERATE 1 OR 2 NIGHTS A WEEK BY APPOINTMENT ONLY BUT NOT UNTIL SPRINGTIME. THIS SITE WILL MENTION IT IF IT HAPPENS. AGAIN THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT OVER THE LAST 9+ YEARS!
