It was the biggest snow storm on record, but for many around here that doesn’t mean work or life comes to a halt. Facebook has been filled with pictures of neighbors teaming up to shovel unplowed streets and alleys with other blocks currently organizing similar clean-ups. Some neighbors also made great use of their construction equipment. Though many streets remain unusable, SouthBMore.com couldn’t ignore so many of the great team efforts by our neighbors. Check out some of the pictures that have been shared to Facebook – great job South Baltimore!
From Kate Jordan of the 100 block E. Gittings Street:
In 2010 we didn’t see a plow for 11 days so we all got out there and did it ourselves. What was born from that is the Gittings Street Google group which we used often to communicate block news. It’s pretty awesome. We put the bat signal out on this and everyone showed up and worked from 12-7. It was so much fun. I have amazing neighbors!
