Greek restaurant Yeeros has opened at 17 E. Cross St. in Federal Hill. Yeeros takes over a space vacated last year by Pop Tacos.
The name Yeeros is how to correctly pronounce gyros in Greek. Gyros, which can be served as a platter or as a pita wrap, are made from meat cooked on on a vertical spit.
The Yeeros menu features appetizers and soups such as tzatziki, hummus, spanakopita, and Greek chicken soup. Meats at Yeeros include chicken gyro, pork gyro, lamb gyro, chicken souvlaki, pork souvlaki, lamb souvlaki, and bifteki. It also offers vegan proteins such as falafel, and vegan bifteki and keftedakia balls.
Customers can get the meat and protein options in a pita wrap with a choice of tzatziki, hummus, or tirosalada sauce, along with tomatoes, red onion, and fries. Or, they can get the platters with sauce and their choice of pita, fries, or rice pilaf on the side. Yeeros also offers a Greek salad and Greek beet salad, sides, and desserts including baklava, kadaifi, and Greek yogurt.
Yeeros added a small dining room to the space. Its food is also available through carryout and through multiple delivery apps.
The restaurant does not have a liquor license but offers soft drinks such as sodas, iced tea, Souroti Greek sparkling mineral water, Greek lemonade, and a Greek orange drink.
Yeeros is open everyday from 1130am to 10pm.
