This Weekend Events Around Baltimore is brought to you by Hoodstock charity music fest:
Unified Community Connections, a nonprofit agency serving people with disabilities, will host its 16th Annual Hoodstock charity music fest on Saturday, October 19 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at the American Visionary Art Museum. Hoodstock is a laidback, family-friendly event where guests “Just Say No to Black-Tie and Yes to Tie-Dye” while enjoying live music from the 1960s and ’70s with a splash of contemporary. Local band Roses n Rust will headline this year’s event and cover both classic and modern artists.
Advance general admission tickets are $45 and include food, beer and wine, with plenty of raffles and a silent auction. In addition, local celebrity O.J. Brigance, senior advisor for player development for the Baltimore Ravens, will present this year’s Samuel A. Tucker Memorial Can Do Award.
Hoodstock started in 2004 as a neighborhood event and has since grown into a major fundraiser to benefit people with disabilities. Last year, more than 350 people attended and the event raised over $86,000. For tickets, visit www.mt.cm/hoodstock-xvi or www.unified.org.
