Baltimore Bike Share, in partnership with Québec’s Bewegen Technologies, will launch tomorrow. It is the largest Pedelec (electric-assist) bicycle fleet in North America according to the site. The bike share will also offer standard 8-gear bicycles.
There will be 50 stations throughout South Baltimore, Southeast Baltimore, Southwest Baltimore, Downtown, Mount Vernon, and Station North, as well as stations at Johns Hopkins University, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Druid Hill Park.
In South Baltimore there will be a 16-dock station at the Cross Street Market in Federal Hill, a 16-dock station at McHenry Row in Locust Point, and three other single-dock stations on the South Baltimore Peninsula. There will also be a 16-dock station at the Inner Harbor, a 12-dock station at Camden Yards, a 12-dock station at Washington Blvd. and MLK Blvd. in Pigtown (across from Ridgely’s Delight), a 16-dock station at Carroll Park in Pigtown, a 16-dock station at Hollins Market, and a 12-dock station at Union Square.
Users can get a $15/month pass which includes unlimited 45-minute rides. It costs $2 for every additional 30 minutes. Users can also pay as they go with $2 trips for up to 45 minutes and $2 for every additional 30 minutes.
Stations, maps, and payment will be available on the Baltimore Bike Share app.
