Samos Opens
Samos Greek Island Grill, the fast-casual spinoff of the popular Samos Restaurant in Greektown, opened its second location at Locust Point’s McHenry Row in former 1600 sq. ft. space vacated by Yogi Castle.
The menu features Greek specialties such as hummus and spreads, salads, soups, pita wraps, gyros, souvlaki skewers, spanakopita, small plates, platters, baklava and other desserts, and sides, as well as a kids menu.
REV to Open Second Location in Brewers Hill
McHenry Row’s REV Cycle Studio announced it will be opening a second location in a retail space at the Hanover Brewers Hill apartment complex near Canton. From a press release:
“With this new location, we hope to bring our unique brand of indoor cycling to an even bigger audience,” says Rick Zambrano, co-owner of REV Cycle Studio. “The road has been long to get us to this point, but with the support of our communities and clients we have reached our goal of opening a second studio.”
“Opening a cycling studio was a big dream for me, and opening a second location is proof that you can fulfill and even surpass your dreams when you let go of the fear,” says Esther Collinetti, co-owner of REV Cycle Studio. “REV provides a workout for both the mind and the body. Our entire team works hard to inspire courage and help others build healthy, happy lives.”
“I was there when REV opened their first location, and I plan to be there when the second studio opens,” says Katie Blaha, a current REV client. “REV isn’t like other big gyms; they know your name when you walk in the door. New FootGolf Course at Carroll Park
Carroll Park Golf Course recently opened a FootGolf course. From a press release:
FootGolf is a newly popular sport that combines soccer and golf, challenging players to kick a soccer ball around a traditional golf course into enlarged cups in as few shots as possible.
The Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park has been created to include
18 holes and was recently accredited by the American FootGolf League. FootGolf can be played on the same course throughout the day as traditional golf and allows for greater use of the existing course by FootGolf players of all ages.
The Craig Willinger Fund (CWFund) was created to show young soccer fans fighting cancer that dreams and amazing experiences can still be part of their future. The nonprofit was started in honor of Craig Willinger, a Highlandtown native who passed away from complications related to a bone marrow transplant in February 2012 as he battled stage 4 chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

Sagamore Spirit Hits the TriState
Port Covington’s Sagamore Spirit is expanding the distribution of its rye whiskey up the East Coast. From a press release:
Sagamore Spirit, a new Baltimore-based whiskey company, announced today that its award-winning straight rye whiskey is now available in select restaurants, bars and liquor stores in New York City. The whiskey company plans to continue its expansion in the region by launching in New Jersey and Pennsylvania later this fall.
