REV to Open Second Location in Brewers Hill

McHenry Row’s REV Cycle Studio announced it will be opening a second location in a retail space at the Hanover Brewers Hill apartment complex near Canton. From a press release:

“With this new location, we hope to bring our unique brand of indoor cycling to an even bigger audience,” says Rick Zambrano, co-owner of REV Cycle Studio. “The road has been long to get us to this point, but with the support of our communities and clients we have reached our goal of opening a second studio.”

“Opening a cycling studio was a big dream for me, and opening a second location is proof that you can fulfill and even surpass your dreams when you let go of the fear,” says Esther Collinetti, co-owner of REV Cycle Studio. “REV provides a workout for both the mind and the body. Our entire team works hard to inspire courage and help others build healthy, happy lives.”

“I was there when REV opened their first location, and I plan to be there when the second studio opens,” says Katie Blaha, a current REV client. “REV isn’t like other big gyms; they know your name when you walk in the door. I can leave all of my troubles at the door and refocus my mind and body each time I clip-in and hear those two words: ‘gear up.’”

New FootGolf Course at Carroll Park

Carroll Park Golf Course recently opened a FootGolf course. From a press release:

FootGolf is a newly popular sport that combines soccer and golf, challenging players to kick a soccer ball around a traditional golf course into enlarged cups in as few shots as possible.

The Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park has been created to include

18 holes and was recently accredited by the American FootGolf League. FootGolf can be played on the same course throughout the day as traditional golf and allows for greater use of the existing course by FootGolf players of all ages.

The Craig Willinger Fund (CWFund) was created to show young soccer fans fighting cancer that dreams and amazing experiences can still be part of their future. The nonprofit was started in honor of Craig Willinger, a Highlandtown native who passed away from complications related to a bone marrow transplant in February 2012 as he battled stage 4 chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

Planit Named Tech Company of the Year

Federal Hill’s Planit was named Tech Business of the Year in Technical.ly Baltimore’s annual Baltimore Innovation Awards. From a press release:

“Being named Baltimore’s Tech Business of the Year? That’s just awesome,” said Ed Callahan, executive creative strategist and co-founder at Planit. “Planit is a creative agency with a digital soul. While it’s easy to showcase our creative side we don’t always get to highlight our extensive digital development side—yet that part is so critical to what we do. Creative without a digital aspect won’t cut it. Our teams are proving that every day by working together to make ideas come to life. This award is further proof of it.”

Sagamore Spirit Hits the TriState

Port Covington’s Sagamore Spirit is expanding the distribution of its rye whiskey up the East Coast. From a press release:

Sagamore Spirit, a new Baltimore-based whiskey company, announced today that its award-winning straight rye whiskey is now available in select restaurants, bars and liquor stores in New York City. The whiskey company plans to continue its expansion in the region by launching in New Jersey and Pennsylvania later this fall.

“We couldn’t be more excited to expand our brand and spread the Maryland rye whiskey tradition to New York City,” said Brian Treacy, President of Sagamore Spirit. “We are proud to put Maryland back on the map as the premier distiller of rye whiskey and share that with the Big Apple.”

About Upper Chesapeake Insurance Agency:

The Upper Chesapeake Insurance Agency is celebrating 20 years in South Baltimore.  In 1996, David Carr lived with his family on Battery Ave. and saw an opportunity to bring an Erie Insurance Agency to South Baltimore and expand Erie’s reach in Baltimore City. He took a leap of faith and opened the agency in a neighborhood he loved.  As a resident of the neighborhood, he understood the unique aspects of insuring homes, autos and businesses in Baltimore City.  You may have seen the agency’s NXGEDfv459hoPbSW7tbmp-esMkHBpflXWTepxgUZFhmE5ElZptKPOHyUSvXm-X99yVJKandX4R67GQe29pInK7h6mmlJ1-1OBnneDqBrLtnj1dbguh6jTGUgMoEcxmYfAb47Vn3g.png campaign cups, mugs and stickers around the neighborhood.
