800 Battery Ave

At the above date and location a female victim had left her car and was approached by 4 black males ages from 15 to 22. She was assaulted by some of the suspects and they grabbed the keys from her hand. They entered her 2011 Silver Honda Civic and fled.

She suffered minor abrasions and required no medical attention. CWR is investigating. At the time of this message she could not recall her tag #.

Please be aware of your surroundings when exiting your vehicle at night and if you see something suspicious while parking or still in your car, just leave and call the police and leave a contact number.

Pigtown Home Featured on HGTV’s House Hunters

On Thursday night, HGTV aired a new episode of House Hunters featuring three Baltimore homes. The 30-minute episode highlighted couple Bryan and Mike and their relocation from Florida to Baltimore City. Mike said he will be working at a university between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. and that the couple originally wanted to live in D.C. before discovering more affordable opportunities in Baltimore.

Bryan and Mike toured three homes during the episode: one in Patterson Place (often referred to as Patterson Park) in Southeast Baltimore, one in Hamilton Hills in Northeast Baltimore, and one in Pigtown, which was referred to on the show as Washington Village. The episode highlighted Pigtown’s close proximity to the Inner Harbor.

Bryan and Mike ultimately purchased the home in Patterson Place.

The home featured in Pigtown was previously showcased in SouthBMore.com’s Tuesdays Under 250 in August and was sold in September. The property features hardwood ceilings and exposed beams, decorative concrete floors, catwalks, multiple outdoor spaces, a sunken living room, and many more custom details.

The episode featured many scenes of Baltimore including shots from Federal Hill Park, an overhead shot of the South Baltimore peninsula, footage of Bryan and Mike touring Second Chance, and many views of the Inner Harbor.

House Hunters has made several trips to South Baltimore in the past including a ‘House Hunters Renovation’ episode in Federal Hill/Riverside and a ‘Hunting Vintage’ episode where a couple selected a home in Union Square.

Cashier and Neighbors Stop Robbery Attempt at Lucky’s on Fort Avenue

Today around 9am a male suspect, who was described by cashier Jarnain Singh as around 25 years old, attempted to rob Lucky’s Deli & Market at 445 E. Fort Ave. in Riverside. According to Singh, the suspect presented a note at the cash register, showed a knife, and grabbed him by the shirt.

Singh told SouthBMore.com the suspect then jumped over the cash register and started grabbing packs of cigarettes. He said he was then in a struggle with the suspect when a customer arrived and helped Singh tackle the suspect to the ground. The knife was dropped on the ground at some point during the incident. Two other neighbors saw what was going on and came to help hold the suspect down on the ground outside the store until police officers arrived. The suspect was arrested by Baltimore Police.

Baltimore Police confirmed with SouthBMore.com the disarming of the robbery suspect this morning, but is still processing its report.

Singh said he kept a cool head during the entire incident and was very appreciative of the help he received. “I’m a little scared, but thankful there are such nice people around here,” he told SouthBMore.com. Singh spoke to SouthBMore.com at length about how much he loves his customers and the neighborhood.

Singh said he received a few scratches and was bit on the hand, but that he is fine.
